Peptide Blends

Peptide blends combine two or more identified research materials in a defined nominal configuration. They should be evaluated as multi-component analytical samples rather than treated as interchangeable with their individual components.

Blend analysis can require methods capable of resolving and identifying each component. A single aggregate purity value may not describe component identity, relative composition, net content, degradation products, or interactions during sample preparation.

Questions to review for peptide blends

• Are all components and nominal quantities clearly identified?
• Can the analytical method distinguish each component?
• Does the documentation address identity and composition separately?
• Are counterions, excipients, or formulation details relevant to the method?
• Is the lot identifier consistent across the label and records?
